THE ANNUAL MEETING OF THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF THE RS:X CLASS TOOK PLACE IN THE DANISH CITY OF AARHUS IN AUGUST, WHERE THE NEXT HOSTING CITY OF THE 2019 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WAS DETERMINED
Spain, Croatia, Portugal, and Russia fought for the right to host a prestigious regatta. And for the first time Saint Petersburg was named a hosting city of this competition! The project manager of Saint Petersburg Yacht Club Elena Solovyeva and the Director of the Sailing Academy Taisiya Borodina presented the city on the Neva at the competition.
The Championship will be the largest competition of such level in the Olympic yacht classes in Russia. It is expected that over a hundred of young sportsmen from dozens of countries of the world will come to Saint Petersburg in August 2019 to participate in the World Championship. Competitions of such level prove that the city can host Summer Olympic Games 2032, for the organization of which Saint Petersburg is going to submit an application.

Those were: Dragon European Championship, SB20 World Championship, Extreme Sailing Series acts, an act of WMRT series and Red Bull Foiling Generation event, qualification stages of the Sailing Champions League, Russian national youth regattas. Our club is ready to rise to the serious international level now with Olympic class world event. We are happy to welcome guests from all over the world!"
